Hey There!
Hello and welcome to Seasoned Scholars! I’m Aysha Weekley, and I’m thrilled you’re here.
Born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa, my journey has been anything but traditional. As a first-generation college student, I’ve faced my share of obstacles. My experiences have shown me the power of persistence, representation, and community.

At Seasoned Scholars, I focus on helping non-traditional students—people like me—navigate their unique educational journeys. Whether you’ve taken time off school, faced setbacks, or simply feel like you don’t fit the mold of a “traditional” student, you belong here.
I know firsthand how isolating and challenging it can feel to pursue your goals while juggling responsibilities and overcoming societal stigmas. That’s why Seasoned Scholars is a space designed to uplift, inspire, and support you.
Get To Know Me
As a first-generation college student and non-traditional learner, my journey has been shaped by resilience and determination. Growing up in Waterloo, Iowa, I was deeply influenced by my parents' educational paths—my mother entered the workforce after high school, and my father completed schooling through middle school. Their experiences instilled in me a profound appreciation for education as a transformative tool.

Life hasn't been without its challenges. As a teen parent, survivor of domestic abuse, and someone who navigated the stigma of being a convicted felon and a college dropout, these barriers initially held me back. However, facing these experiences head-on ultimately fueled my drive to redefine my narrative and chart a path of success in both my career and education.

In supply chain management, a field where African Americans hold only 7.6% of leadership roles, I've not only found success but also worked to break barriers. This same determination fuels my entrepreneurial journey. I am the Founder and CEO of Seasoned Scholars, an organization dedicated to empowering non-traditional students by providing the representation, support, and resources they need to achieve their educational goals. My work is rooted in the belief that our potential isn’t defined by our past but by our determination to thrive.

I also serve as the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of The Weekley Connection, an organization connecting businesses, ideas, and people to drive meaningful impact. In this role, I apply my leadership skills and strategic thinking to foster innovation and success through partnerships.

On a personal note, I’ve been married to my incredible wife, Gina, for 6 years. Gina, the Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging for the local school district and a doctoral student at Baylor University, has been my steadfast supporter in all my dreams—no matter how bold or “crazy” they may seem. We live in Cedar Falls, IA, with our beloved "puppyson," Rajah. Our daughter, Aaliyah, is currently away at Alabama A&M University, pursuing her own dreams by studying marketing with a concentration in sports management and a minor in journalism.

My journey is a testament to the power of resilience, representation, and the importance of lifting others as we climb. Every challenge I’ve faced has strengthened my resolve to inspire others and create opportunities for those who feel unseen or underestimated.
